5 Week Beginners Throwing Course

Starts week commencing 10th August!

Course Information:

In this course you will be guided through the techniques and skills needed to make functional pottery on the wheel, including mugs, bowls, vases and pulled handles by our very own pottery whizz Eva!

We will focus on the fundamental aspects of throwing pots, starting with preparing clay, familiarity with potters wheels and good posture, centring, pulling even walls, and finishing pots on the wheel.

Learn to pot in our cosy and friendly studio atmosphere!

You will also learn how to turn/trim pots, basic decoration techniques and simple slip decoration.

Materials and firings for up to 12 pots are included. Extra pots will be charged at £3 per pot.

What to bring:

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting mucky!

PLEASE trim your fingernails short and tie any long hair back, also remove any jewellery from hands.
