Join us for a comprehensive 4-week pottery course in our warm, welcoming Manchester studio. This "taster" experience is designed to take you through the entire ceramic process, from handling raw clay to applying the final glaze. Under the expert eye of our tutor, Pascal, you’ll explore a variety of traditional and modern techniques in a relaxed, creative environment.

What You’ll Learn

  • Week 1–3: Core Techniques & Building Confidence

    • Coil Pottery: Master the ancient art of building form through hand-rolling clay.

    • Slab Building: Learn to create structured plates and geometric shapes.

    • Wheel Throwing: Get your first taste of throwing on the pottery wheel.

    • Surface Decoration: Explore textures and patterns to make your work unique.

  • Week 4: The Glazing Process

    • A dedicated session on glazing techniques, where you’ll learn how to finish and seal your creations for functional use.

Course Details & What’s Included

  • Finished Work: All materials are provided, including the firing and glazing of 4 original pieces to take home.

  • Collection: Your finished ceramics will be kiln-fired and ready for collection within 30 days.

  • Who It’s For: Perfect for absolute beginners or those with minimal experience looking for a structured, multi-week pottery workshop.

Studio Life & Preparation

  • What to Wear: Please wear comfortable "studio clothes" that you don't mind getting messy with clay.

  • Our Residents: We are a dog-friendly space! Our friendly studio dogs will be around to welcome you, so please ensure you are comfortable with pets before booking.

  • Location: Conveniently located in Manchester (near Castlefield) with easy access for Sunday morning classes.

Note: As this is a structured 4-week curriculum, please ensure you can attend all Sunday sessions before booking. We cannot offer make-up classes or rescheduled dates for missed weeks.
