7 Spot Pottery: An Artist-Run Studio in the Heart of Salford

7 Spot Pottery is an independent, artist-run studio located just a stone's throw from Manchester City Centre. As a creative micro-business, we offer an authentic ceramics experience that goes beyond the basics.

Our Journey We started small in 2017, working out of a modest 250 sq ft space. Today, we’ve grown into a vibrant 900 sq ft studio inside Makers Quarter, Salford. While our space has expanded, our mission remains the same: providing high-quality, artist-led tuition in a space that feels like home.

Expertise You Can Feel With over 40 years of combined experience in art education and professional making, our team (led by practising full-time ceramicists) guides you through both functional and sculptural ceramics. Because we are an active studio, you’ll learn the real "science" of pottery: we mix our own studio glazes and decorating slips, firing to cone 6 oxidation for a professional, durable finish.

A Space for Everyone Whether you’re here for a 1-day taster or a 12-week intensive, we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, inclusive community. We truly believe in the therapeutic power of clay and love seeing our students find their "flow" at the wheel.

The Studio Our workspace is fully equipped for every stage of the process, featuring:

  • 12 Professional Pottery Wheels

  • 2 Top-loading Kilns

  • Extruder, custom made tools, cosy workspaces

  • A library of custom studio glazes and slips

  • Extensive reference library of modern and antique pottery books

A young woman with short brown hair and light skin, wearing a bright blue sweater, looks slightly to the side with a puzzled or confused expression on her face, standing against a plain white background.
A young woman with red hair and glasses sitting at a table inside a coffee shop, holding a beige mug with both hands, and smiling at the camera. On the table, there is a potted plant with red and white flowers and a small sculpture of hands. The background shows parked cars and a large window.

Sammy & Mia

Head of Meet & Greets

Our studio wouldn't be the same without our two furry residents. Sammy and Mia are the heartbeat of 7 Spot Pottery, providing a calm and therapeutic presence while you create. They are moral support for the owners Eva & Pascal, as well as for many of our members!

  • Sammy: Loves cuddles, can’t currently come in as he is too nervous! You may meet him on some of his training visits to the studio.

  • Mia: The official greeter. She’ll likely be the first to say hello when you walk through the door and will always expect treats!
