Whether you’re picking up clay for the first time or you’re a seasoned maker looking for a creative home, these sessions are all about relaxed, hands-on making.

We like to keep things fresh, so our curriculum changes every 12 weeks. You’ll get a balanced mix of wheel throwing and hand-building to keep your skills varied. If you’re an experienced potter, you’re more than welcome to bring your own sketches and projects to life with our tutors on hand for support.

A note on value: Your course fee includes the glazing and firing of up to 16 pots, unlike many studios, we don’t believe in charging you extra by the kilo!

Our curriculum is different every term and may include things like:

  • Handbuilding: Master slab work, the Japanese "kurinuki" (dug-out) method, and agateware.

  • Playing with pinch pots, coil building, and creative variations.

  • Diving into slip decoration, underglazes, and classic glazing techniques.

  • We love it when students request specific demos or bring in projects they're excited about.

The Logistics:

The term starts the week beginning 22nd April. We’ll run for 7 weeks, take a 1-week breather to let things dry and fire, and then jump back in for the final 5 weeks.

Each session is 2.5 hours giving you over 2 hours of making time and 20 minutes at the end for a collective studio tidy-up.

  • Practice makes perfect: You'll also get access to our weekly "drop-in" sessions if you want extra time at the wheel.

  • What to bring: Just yourself! We provide all the tools, equipment, and aprons.

  • The Fine Print: Because our classes are usually at capacity, we can’t swap your days around if you miss a session, but we’ll always do our best to get you back up to speed when you return.

  • Discounts: We offer a discount on weekday daytime courses for those on Universal Credit, just drop us a message for a chat.
