Kiln Hire for Experienced Ceramicists

• Rates: £110 per full load, £70 per half load

• Kiln Details: L&L 23T toploader, 190-litre capacity, accommodates 21" diameter kiln shelves. Fits approximately 3 shelves with pots up to 6" high.

Conditions:

• Firing Types: Cone 06 bisque (1000°C) and Cone 6 glaze (1220°C) ONLY. We do not fire earthenware clay.

• Clay & Glaze: Email us details of clay and glazes for firing range checks. Earthenware clay may damage our kiln if fired at incorrect temperatures.

• Glaze Testing: Test tiles must be vertical. We offer glaze test firing for £10. Bring test tiles for testing within our communal firing.

• Safety: We are not responsible for breakages. You may assist with loading the kiln. We do not fire unsafe items (e.g., thick pieces, wild clay, combustibles, poorly glazed work).

• Piece Requirements: Ensure green-ware is manageable and glazed pieces have 1.5 cm clearance from kiln shelves. Use a clay tile if necessary. All pieces must be clearly labelled or stamped with a logo.

• Damage Charges: Any damage to kiln furniture will incur a £30 replacement fee per kiln shelf, £40 per element.
