Course Overview

Spend a full day at the wheel in our intensive pottery workshop. This hands-on course is designed for those who want to fast-track their skills and learn the art of functional pottery. Under expert guidance, you will move from basic clay preparation to throwing your own set of professional-style stoneware.

What You’ll Learn

  • Wheel Throwing Fundamentals: Mastering the "centering" and "pulling" techniques.

  • Efficient Throwing: How to create and finish pots on the wheel without the need for secondary trimming.

  • Shape Mastery: Specific techniques for throwing consistent cups, bowls, and plates.

Preparation & What to Bring

  • Clothing: Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting "clay-messy."

  • Practicality: Please trim your fingernails short and tie back long hair for safety and better control on the wheel.

  • Lunch: Feel free to bring a packed lunch or visit local Castlefield favorites like the Co-op or Banyan Tree bistro (just a 12-minute walk away).

We Provide: All tools, equipment, apron, and complimentary hot and cold drinks throughout the day.
